Leviton Manufacturing Customer Project Specialist IV in Bloomingdale, Illinois
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager this position is focused on strategic account management within one territory, including customer quotation requests, low-level product technical support, order management and status updates on entire projects (MTO + Stock). This role is also responsible for developing incremental sales by using effective probing and listening skills, processing quotes, and resolving customer issues. The Customer Project Specialist IV will assure that the Customer Service organization meets or exceeds the needs of the customer by providing “World Class Customer Service.”
Coordinate complex project plans and oversee order management to fulfill customer project requirements.
Participate on strategic account team and guide low level tasks by territory team members that support strategic accounts.
Manage strategic customer accounts. Solve various complex customer issues having the ability to build price agreements, formal quotations and proposal to support growth of strategic accounts. Apply discounts if required within constraints and focused on a balance between profitability and sales growth.
Generate sales by recommending additional solutions.
Serve as subject matter expert responsible for training and mentoring team members.
Proactively provide feedback and support to Manager and provide input in staff meetings.
Report on results and data especially as it relates to strategic accounts. Create strategic account analysis and status reporting.
Provide formal quotations and proposal support to support growth of strategic accounts.
Understand all Network Solution products, Standard and Make to Order. Complete quotes for complex MTOs and Special orders.
Utilize project tracking and configuration tools to maximize effective response to customer projects.
Handle domestic and international accounts and compliance logistics.
Develop continuous process improvement tools and assist in leading new system and process implementations. Write work instruction and ISO procedures.
Serve as point of contact for distribution and sales regarding strategic accounts assigned. Communicate and coordinate with Regional Sales Manager to help support Strategic Account growth.
May provide functional area and/or process expertise, conformity tracking, procedural accuracy maintenance, training and reporting on results.
Education & Experience
AA Degree in a related field required, Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years customer service experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
At least 2 years of previous work experience with technical products required.
Telecommunications, Datacom industry, and Made-to-Order experience preferred.
Inside sales or consultative customer service experience a plus
Skills & Abilities
Understanding of international shipping requirements and logistics.
Grasp and understanding of technical concepts.

Ability to communicate effectively using phone, fax and email with internal and external customers.
Attention to detail and ability to handle mathematical calculations surrounding pricing and billing (i.e. discounts, interest, commissions, etc.)
Ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to work in a team environment.
Must be proficient in:
Excel and Word.
Facilitating meetings, presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, governmental sources, and the general public.
Methodical and independent problem solving, focusing on detailed information, data and metrics.
