Northrop Grumman Mgr Programs 1 in Arlington Heights, Illinois
Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems is looking for a Manger, Programs Level 1 to support the Advanced EO Targeting operating unit of the Emerging Systems & Strategic Initiatives business unit. The position includes both new business capture as well as program management (technical, financial, and schedule) for on-going programs. The individual will lead cross-functional programs aligned to common program performance goals.
Program Managers are responsible for coordination and management of all phases of execution, from inception (proposal development) through completion (contract closeout). Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Effectively build and lead an engaged cross-functional team of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Be responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of programs or subsystems of major programs.
Develop new business and/or expand the product line with the customer.
Participate in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, proactively identify program issues and develop solutions.
Government Property (GFE, CFE, etc.) tracking and management
Adherence to all internal processes for Program Management
The ideal candidate will be able todemonstrate strong leadership characteristics, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. As a program manager, the role will require talent development and performance management responsibilities including performance feedback on program members to functional management, employee engagement, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ideal candidate will have a developed collaboration and influence competencies. The successful candidate will demonstrate high levels of organization and self-motivation with the ability to lead the team to accomplish challenging tasks in a high pressure and short-turnaround environment.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other science/technical field with 5 years of experience (or Master's and 3 years)
Demonstrated success in managing programs/projects to cost, performance, and schedule requirements
Demonstrated success in leading and developing cross functional teams
U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Master's Degree in engineering, math, science, or business management
Relevant experience developing advanced EO Systems includinglab test, integration, and flight test phases
Demonstrated success in capturing new business in current and adjacent markets
Current Secret/Top Secret clearance
